This poster was created for a school assignment at Östra Grevie folkhögskola. We were asked to design a poster or other work of art based on conversation or dialogue we had overheard. In my apartment building, there is a very loud and disruptive young boy who often screams in the stairwell, bangs and slams on doors repetitively and runs up and down throughout the building. At this point I had not seen the boy in question, yet his noisy outbursts had a tremendous impact on my daily life. I wanted my poster to feel as visually cacophonous as the boy’s outbursts, yet also indicate that this boy was a mystery to me. Sourcing stock photos and era-accurate 3D models from Internet Archive, I depicted him as a blocky, distorted jumble of facial features inspired by early 2000’s computer graphics.
